8:30 – Pick up at your accommodation in Porto (Braga 9:00)
Morning:
This day will take us to the center of the National Park, near the town of Gerês. We will drive from the meeting point or your accommodations to the hiking starting point which is the most popular viewpoint of the park – “Pedra Bela”. This hiking trail in Peneda-Gerês will take us across meadows used by Shepherds and their herds of cows in summer time. We follow these ancient trails along forest and granite rock formations in the mountains. We will enjoy the landscape and learn about the locals traditions, fauna and flora.
13:30 – Lunch
Afternoon:
After lunch, we will take a road crossing the Albergaria forest, one of the oldest oak tree forests in Europe, and we will walk along an ancient Roman road to reach another beautiful waterfall, here in summer time we can swim in the clear natural pools of the river. In this area we also have a mandatory place to stop and take a picture of Vilarinho da Furna lake surrounded by granite mountains and forest.
On the way back we drive along scenic roads, stoping in several view points and mountain villages.
18:00 – 19:00 Drop of at your accommodation and ending of our services

Samual was exposed to Covid so as a precautionary approach he had his associate, Valdo conduct the tour. The hikes and visit to the waterfalls were good and Valdo was very knowledgeable about the area and it’s flora and fauna. He also took us across the border to see the hotsprings in Spain. Lunch at a local restaurant was fantastic. Overall it was a great experience in the park

My husband and I did this tour in June 2022, and it was incredible! We did two wonderful hikes, enjoyed lunch, and had lovely drives each way from Porto. Our guide was a true naturalist who clearly loved the park, and had great stories and anecdotes. I would highly recommend this experience for your time in northern Portugal.

Great one day tour of the park Geres. We were picked up by Carlos at our place and he drove us to the park. He told us everything about the wildlife and environment (he is a biologist) and took a lot of pictures for us. We came to spots we would never have found on our own. A great picnic was arranged. We would strongly recommend this tour! We were with a family of five. One of our girls found this the highlight of our holidays!

The tour was very interesting and relaxing. We saw some wonderful views and places of which usual tourists rarely know. Our guide Samuel told us a lot of interesting stories and facts about the Geres National Park and people living there. He was also very helpful during the booking process. I totally recommend going for a hike with him. It is a much better experience than going on your own:))

My mother and I had a great time!
We took this a one day tour: walking about 6 km in the nature than had a nice lunch and than walked about 2 km to the waterfalls.
It was beautiful road with a great tour guid!

If your looking to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature this is an excellent tour. We were picked up at our apartment where we drove to the park. Excellent views, easy walks, and a great lunch. The drive back had stunning views of the mountain ranges. We are avid hikers back home in Canada and we learned so much from Carlos on nature as he is very knowledgeable. It is a long day but well worth to see a special part of Portugal.

If your looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and spend some time with nature this a great tour. Carlos was very knowledgeable and informative. We were picked up at our apartment, drove to the park and had an awesome lunch. It was a long day but well worth it. The drive back through the three villages had stunning views. Excellent hiking trip. Well thought combination of hiking , magnificent viewpoints, swimming location and tour in the national park. The mountain/forest-air is very inspiring and brings my mind back to nature and gives a relaxing feeling.
