Peneda-Gerês best hikes - Teixeira Valley
Teixeira valley is an old glacial valley and one of the Peneda-Gerês best hikes. This hike takes us through several meadows through the paths still used by shepherds before reaching this beautiful hidden valley that also has its pasture areas with cattle roaming during the summer.
With any luck, the semi-wild Garranos, one of the three Portuguese breeds of horses, can be seen along the trail. The Teixeira meadow is the ideal place to take a break halfway through and even has a small lagoon that invites you to swim.
The trail out of this valley, takes us through an impressive descent with breathtaking views, after which we arrive to the viewpoint of the Arado waterfall, one of the most beautiful and appreciated waterfalls in the park.
